Secondary School Drug Prevalence Survey 2013
During the month of November 2013, the National Council on Substance Abuse
(NCSA), in collaboration with the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD),
will be conducting its third Secondary School Drug Prevalence survey.
This survey seeks to identify the prevalence and age of first use of both legal and illegal drugs as well as perceptions of, and attitudes towards, drug use.
Specially trained teams will visit participating public and private secondary schools across the island to collect the necessary data from 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th formers. The collected data will enable the identification of emerging trends within this age group as well as inform the development and modification of programmes and policies which target the adolescent population.
